“Hope and Dustin sitting in a tree
K – I – S – S – I – N – G.
First comes love
Then comes marriage
Then comes marriage
Then comes the baby in the baby carriage!”
I always thought that was what life would be. Though, the guy always changed while growing up to whoever was my crush at the time. This time Dustin stuck though. Life did happen this way…Mostly.
Dustin and I met online on MySpace. He messaged me about the snow storm that we had just had the day before in February of 2007. I thought he was a bit nutty for thinking that we needed even MORE snow. We talked back and forth for nearly two months. I didn’t plan on having this snow loving nut-o in my life other then as a friend online. But after finding out that we knew someone in common I just had to explore this path a little more. I called up my friend Sara to see if she could tell me anything about her former manager. All that she could tell me was good stuff about him. I think deep down I was hoping that she would tell me to stay away from him because I just wasn’t sure that I wanted to even go down this road of online dating again. I’m glad that I trusted her though, because on March 23, 2007 I met my soul mate, best friend, husband, and the father of my children!
We started planning our wedding in January of 2009. In May of that year we decided that we wanted to have a baby right away, and with our wedding just 3 months away, we decided to start ‘trying’ right then. We really did think it would take longer to get pregnant, but only 3 weeks after deciding to ‘start’, we ‘achieved’. When we got married at the end of August 2009 I was already 16 weeks along!
We now live in a house in Saint Paul Minnesota. We have a wonderful son, Logan. He is the joy of my everyday life. He is my challenge. He is my fun. He is my exercise. He is my heart! I didn’t know that having a child could mean this, this, abundance of love and immense pleasure in life, and most of all this joy. Logan loves to run, play, eat, play, eat, play, eat, and he makes sure to get in a dose of torture too…meaning he likes to torture our two cats, much to our (and the cats’) chagrin.
We are now expecting a second little monster to add to mess. We just found out that I am expecting again. I am due in January 2012! We are excited, overjoyed, and nervous all at the same time.
My ‘side-job’ is working as a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant in Downtown Saint Paul. I work a full 40 hours a week, plus do the cooking and (majority) cleaning and try to be the best mom and wife I can be. When I'm not doing any of those things then I like to read or exercise my creative side if different ways.
This blog is primarily about my life, family, and the love that goes into everyday. I will admit right away that my views are not always those of everyone else’s, that sometimes I am wrong, and that also I might say things that might hurt others feelings. I try not to hurt others but, in order to express myself sometimes its needed, plus, my filter is not all that great! You have been forewarned! Now go forth and read. I look forward to getting to know you as much as you are getting to know me.
